A Dream of Loss and Shame at Church

A Dream of Loss and Shame at Church
I was at my church but it was all updated with glass for the outside walls. I put my purse down to minister to someone but then I couldn't find them so I went back to get my purse and it was gone. I looked in the sanctuary and people were eating at round tables with white table clothes. Four or five men with really nice suits on were standing around talking about how nice their suits were. I looked for my purse again but couldn't find it, then I wet my pants. I was so ashamed that I hurried to clean it up before anyone saw what I had done. I went outside but couldn't leave because I had no keys...then I woke up.

This dream may symbolize feelings of loss and shame in one’s spiritual life. The church, often seen as a place of refuge and comfort, is depicted as unfamiliar and updated with glass walls. This could represent a sense of detachment or disconnection from one’s faith. The dreamer’s purse, a symbol of their personal belongings and identity, is lost while ministering to others. This could suggest a feeling of losing oneself while trying to help others, or a fear of losing one’s own spiritual identity. The people eating at round tables with white tablecloths could symbolize a sense of community and fellowship, but the dreamer feels left out and unable to join in. The men in nice suits may represent a sense of competition or comparison in the church, with the dreamer feeling inadequate or inferior. The dreamer’s wetting their pants could symbolize a loss of control or embarrassment in their spiritual life. This is followed by a sense of shame and a desire to hide or clean up the mess before anyone sees. The dreamer’s inability to leave due to not having keys could represent feeling trapped or stuck in their spiritual journey. Overall, this dream may be a reflection of the dreamer’s feelings of inadequacy, disconnection, and shame in their spiritual life. It may be a call to address these feelings and find a sense of belonging and purpose in their faith.
