A Harrowing Descent: Symbolism in a Dream of a Dark Cave
I was first walking down a lit cave with students from school, I hadn’t been to school in a year. I saw the teachers as well while we were walking deeper into the cave. At one point, there was a big drop in the cave and we all had to be careful and use a rope to climb down. I went over to climb down when someone behind me began pushing me, I faced her and she wouldn’t stop. She ended up pushing me off the ledge within the cave. I fell down and also hit another ledge before hitting the ground. My ankles were in pain and bleeding after I had fell and all I saw around me was the darkness of the cave

The dreamer’s journey through a lit cave with fellow students and teachers represents a return to a familiar and structured environment after a long absence. The cave itself symbolizes the subconscious mind, with its hidden depths and unknown dangers. The big drop in the cave represents a significant challenge or obstacle in the dreamer’s life, and the use of a rope to climb down suggests a need for support and guidance in overcoming this challenge. The dreamer’s encounter with someone pushing them off the ledge could represent feelings of betrayal or sabotage from someone in their waking life. The pain and bleeding in the dreamer’s ankles may symbolize a sense of vulnerability and insecurity in their current situation. The darkness of the cave at the end of the dream could signify a fear of the unknown or a sense of being lost in their own thoughts and emotions. Overall, this dream may be a reflection of the dreamer’s anxieties and struggles in navigating their personal and academic life.
