Confronting Fear in a Strange Hotel

Confronting Fear in a Strange Hotel
I went to a hotel with my family, but once we got there they went their own ways and I was exploring with someone else (that I can't remember). In the hotel lobby I saw people cleaning/smelling things and told one of the men cleaning that if his nose became overwhelmed to smell alcohol to clear it out. Then we went to go up to our room but noticed a witch had gotten out and was watching us waiting for us to go up to our room. The witch disappeared and we tried going up in the elevator but it wouldn't go up, so we had to take the stairs. On the stairs the witch was everywhere we turned. She never said anything, just watched us. We never saw her move, she was just always waiting for us around a corner. On the second floor the people I was with went out of the stairwell and onto the hotel floor, but I was scared of seeing the witch, so I stayed behind. When I turned around from the door the witch was standing and looking up at me from the bottom of the stairs.

This dream may symbolize a fear of being alone or abandoned by loved ones. The hotel represents a temporary escape from reality, but once there, the dreamer’s family separates and leaves them to explore with a stranger. This could suggest feelings of isolation or a lack of support from those closest to the dreamer. The people cleaning and smelling things in the lobby may represent the dreamer’s desire for cleanliness and order in their life. The witch could symbolize a fear or anxiety that is constantly lurking and waiting to pounce. The fact that the witch disappears and reappears could suggest that the dreamer’s fears are unpredictable and can resurface at any moment. The elevator not working and having to take the stairs could symbolize the dreamer’s struggle to move forward and overcome their fears. The witch’s presence on every floor could represent the dreamer’s inability to escape their fears. Ultimately, the dream may be a reflection of the dreamer’s need to confront and overcome their fears in order to move forward in life.
