Navigating Through Confusion: A Dream of Searching for a Hospital Room

Navigating Through Confusion: A Dream of Searching for a Hospital Room
Me and my wife enter a hospital lobby looking for treatment of an insect bite on my wife’s feet. The nurse tells us that the doctor is here. The doctor is talking on phone and does not attend for a while. “It’s turning yellow” my wife says. In my usual exasperated way, I say “I don’t know why she is taking so long to see you.” I then turn around for a minute and when I look back my wife and the doctor both are not in the lobby. “Where is my wife?” I ask the nurse “She is in room 15, first floor.” I hurry taking the steps to the first floor. As I enter it, I am perplexed by what looks like an office, with people working with files. “Where is room 15?” I ask the first person I see. And then I ask him “Is this a hospital room or what?” “No sir” he says “This is general room. The nurse should have told you that.” He says with a slight grudge in his voice. “The hospital rooms are on the next floor. Please use the elevator. Room 15 is on the right.” I take the elevator to the next floor and rush to the right side. Again, it is full of people in counters like you see in bank. I bend over on the table to ask a person where room 15 is but am hit by a glass window. He looks up and directs me to the other side of the room. I move to the open corridor and reach a counter. There is a man in front of me who is emptying his pockets and moving to a designated location. “Room 15. My wife may be having an operation.” I say abruptly The man at the counter looks at me calmly and says – “You know sir and we know too that nothing has happened to your wife.”
