Navigating Through Uncertainty: A Dream About a Mysterious Hotel and Elevator

Navigating Through Uncertainty: A Dream About a Mysterious Hotel and Elevator
I was on vacation. I’m in a hotel. Group of friends got an extra room to have a party in or something. Eventually everyone leaves and I fall asleep because I have a flight the next day. I wake a couple hours later. One of the random people I didn’t know from the party comes back to the room. I leave and walk towards the lobby and area where they are having breakfast served. Realize I grabbed a pair of shoes from the room that were not mine. I go back to return them and steve was now in the room with that other person. He seems to know that person. I return the shoes and ask Steve if he’s staying there or coming back to the original hotel room. He says he’s staying. I leave again and am deciding if I’m going to wait on the long buffet breakfast line. I decide against waiting on line. I walk towards the elevators to go back to my room. On my way to the elevators I see another group of elevators close by. I decided to take them instead. There is a hotel employee outside of these elevators. As the elevator gets to our floor the ground shakes slightly and I fall but catch myself on the wall almost bumping into the woman employee. She looks at me annoyed and I mumble through the reason I almost bumped her but she doesn’t listen and seems annoyed. I get on the elevator. At first the elevator seems normal. I look at the buttons to choose my floor. My floor was 17, but 17 was not an option. The buttons were only in even numbers, going from 2-18. I select 18 and I start to realize this elevator isn’t a normal hotel elevator. It’s much smaller and the floor isn’t flat, it’s a bit curved. As I’m i ascending I conclude this must be some sort of cargo elevator. The door opens to the 18th floor. This floor is a roof with cars parked everywhere and a few employees I can see but there is nowhere to step out. There is a contraption that I believe its purpose is to extract the cargo from the elevator. I’m panicking because the contraption looks like it could hurt me. There is a red bar for me to grab and it looks like I can grab it and pull myself out. The employees are saying something to me about the red bar but the contraption is so loud and I can’t make out if they are telling me to grab the red bar or not to grab the red bar. I decide to grab the red bar and pull myself out. Then it’s clear they are telling me not to grab the red bar. When I grabbed the bar it moved towards me and now the contraption to extract the cargo was coming towards me. It looked one of those heavy machinery things that is used to dig and grab dirt. It is clawing towards me. It looks like I will die if it catches me. Even though they told me not to grab the red bar, I assumed it was too late and I had set the device in motion. I grab the red bar again, barely pulling myself out of the elevator before the contraption can pull me out. I lift myself up further and out of the elevator and the contraption snaps closed and destroys the elevator. Materials shatter everywhere and some of the cars somehow get destroyed. I barely escape with my life and feel terrified. I lay on the ground of this roof in the rubble realizing I just escaped death feeling received but scared. The two employees are now chatting with me asking me what happened. They are very large men probably each at least 6’3 230 pounds. One looks a little bigger than the other and he is the one who is more angry and pressing me about what happened. I explain at this point everything that had happened prior and I begin to wonder why the woman employee downstairs who I almost fell into didn’t tell me not to take this elevator. The man asks me if speak English. I look at him confused and say of course I speak English. He says well i don’t know some people speak like an African English. A bit more happens after this but I don’t think it’s relevant. I just remember wanting to go home and being scared and almost traumatized from the incident. Random notes - my flight was at 4pm the following day. When me and my friends got that extra hotel room for a party it was probably about midnight when people started arriving. Iitztimmy was there and he was smoking a cigarette. I told him that I see you smoking everytime I see you now. There was a guy there who looked like he was in his early twenties who was trying to get me to interact with this girl who was 28 and he was calling her old. I told her that I was 36 and she called me old. Around 3pm is when everyone left and I fell asleep in that room. I was briefly panicked because I wasn’t in my room and I couldn’t remember when my flight was the next day. That’s when I checked and realized it wasn’t until 4pm and I just went to sleep. I woke up a few hours later and that’s when the part of the dream including the elevator began. The extra hotel room was on the first floor
