The Intruder: A Dream of Fear and Protection

The Intruder: A Dream of Fear and Protection
I'm home alone when the doorbell starts ringing. It rings over and over again, until I look outside to see a man standing outside of our garden gate. I open a window to ask him what he wants. He begins speaking erratically, and I understand the language but not what he means. I tell him to go away and he keeps rattling the gate, trying to get in until he just climbs over the fence. I close the window quickly. He is very tall, very skinny ans has very scary, soulless, dark eyes. I back away from the window and run to the front door to see if it's locked. He begins circling the house, knocking at all the windows, smiling at me and staring. I try lowering our electric blinds but every time they lower halfway, they go back up again. I have to look at the man while he moved very quickly and erratically. Sometimes the front door opens and we both rush towards it. But I always manage to keep him out. It goes on until I wake up. Sometimes his fingers reach inside before I slam the door and wake up.

Your attempts to keep him out and protect yourself may reflect your efforts to maintain control and protect yourself from this threat. The electric blinds that keep going back up could represent obstacles or challenges that prevent you from fully protecting yourself. The man’s circling of the house and knocking on windows may symbolize his persistence and determination to get to you.
