I was with my wife and we had a present to give to someone. We were at some sort of beach community and we knew that this person lived nearby. We asked passing people and slowly got the pieces of the puzzle. He was blonde, about my age, lived in the 4th floor of a building with 3 other single men. We finally figured it out and found the building. We knocked in the door and he - the person we were looking for - let us in.
He was middle aged, and had sort of a bleached blond, towhead, bowlcut. Tan, nondescript. T-shirt, shorts, flip flops.
The place he lived was very odd - it was the entire 4th floor of the building and it was an open space like a hotel lobby, except that there were four separate corners occupied by another man, like the one we were looking for, 4 total people including the man we were looking for. Just couches, not sure if there was much else. Like some strange hotel lobby/waiting room. It reminded me of a hotel I stayed in Haiti years ago. Also like the casual living situation of college years - lots of guys, beer, pizza, etc. (But it was surprisingly clean). There were ceiling fans that cooled the place off. Like a crash pad for beach bums.
He let us in and we gave him the present. He took it and just tossed on his couch. He then asked “what do you guys need now?” We weren’t made to feel welcome, but he wasn’t angry at our presence, just inconvenienced. We asked him to dinner and he said “sure”. We went to get dinner and sat down. The last thing I remember is him looking at the menu and I saw his face and it was the younger me. The little towheaded boy of four, teeth missing, sad, lonely, confused. But playing it cool. Then I woke up.This dream may symbolize a search for something or someone in your waking life.
