The Struggle for Success and Mental Health

The Struggle for Success and Mental Health
I am playing a weird form of soccer, almost in a hockey rink, and I can see it from above. There are all sorts of weird warehouse-like obstacles. I remember being in the box and constantly misfiring. Or being really close. A couple bicycle kicks, a few headers, going just wide. Actually, pretty impressive. And I'm new and young on the team. This game alternates with me being in a mental hospital. Mom comes to visit me a lot. I keep trying to score in this game, watching the "field" in a cardboard box maze from above. I am in a room and frustratedly take my skates off as I realize the game is over. 0-0 tie, I believe. I remember looking up at the clock (up and left) at some point and seeing not a lot of time and feeling like time had flown.

The dream may symbolize the struggle for success and the pressure to perform in a competitive environment. The game of soccer, played in a hockey rink with warehouse-like obstacles, represents the challenges and obstacles one faces in achieving their goals. The dreamer, a new and young player on the team, is constantly trying to score and impress, but is met with frustration and disappointment as they are unable to do so. This could reflect the dreamer’s feelings of inadequacy and fear of failure in their waking life. The alternating scenes of being in a mental hospital and being visited by their mother could represent the dreamer’s inner turmoil and the need for support and guidance. The dreamer’s awareness of time passing quickly and feeling like they have not accomplished enough could also reflect their fear of not making the most of their opportunities. Overall, the dream may be a reflection of the dreamer’s struggles with balancing success and mental well-being.
