The Unconscious Desires of the Mind: A Freudian Analysis of a Dream
Dream that I was with a man and a woman, I was watching it all happen. First they were at a bar and seemed to be getting along and flirting. Then she ends up going to his house, he had bright blue eyes and she was somewhat attractive. She looked a little trashy in appearance, unpolished. She went into bed with him. He then aggressively rapes her after he had already drugged her. He thought she was totally unconscious but she was more awake then he expected. I couldn't tell if she was enjoying it or if she was terrified, I wondered if part of her wanted it. I felt confused in the dream watching this happen.

This dream is a manifestation of the unconscious desires and conflicts within the dreamer’s mind. The presence of a man and a woman suggests a duality within the dreamer’s psyche, representing the conflicting desires of the conscious and unconscious mind. The bar setting symbolizes the dreamer’s social and sexual desires, while the man’s bright blue eyes represent his intense and passionate nature. The woman’s unpolished appearance and trashy demeanor may symbolize the dreamer’s repressed sexual desires and feelings of guilt or shame associated with them.

The act of flirting and the woman’s decision to go to the man’s house suggest a desire for sexual exploration and liberation. However, the man’s aggressive rape of the woman reveals the dreamer’s fear and anxiety towards his own sexual desires. The use of drugs in the dream may symbolize the dreamer’s attempt to suppress or numb these desires.

The dreamer’s confusion and uncertainty about the woman’s enjoyment or terror during the rape reflects his own conflicting feelings towards his sexual desires. This internal struggle is further highlighted by the woman’s partial consciousness, suggesting that the dreamer is aware of his desires but is trying to repress them. The dreamer’s voyeuristic role in the dream may also represent his fear of acting on his desires and the need to observe them from a safe distance.

Overall, this dream reveals the dreamer’s unconscious desires and conflicts surrounding his sexuality. It serves as a reminder for the dreamer to confront and address these desires in order to achieve inner harmony and balance in his waking life.
